The Global Gaming Awards is an annual event which generally takes place in Las Vegas at the Venetian Ballroom which can be located at the Venetian Palazzo Congress Center. This year’s ceremony took place on September 26th and it was presided over by a panel of 60 expert judges from various major fields in both the digital and land-based gaming industry.
This prestigious awards ceremony celebrates triumphs from the past year in both of these industries and altogether there were 12 individual awards. For an unprecedented third year running, Microgaming picked up the Digital Product of the Year Award. Microgaming received this award for its non-downloadable, multi-operator platform, Quickfire.
“This win highlights the incredible progress of Quickfire since launching in 2010. The platform has emerged as the product of choice for operators who require immediate access to the best online gaming content from Microgaming and select development partners,” said the Director of Quickfire, Andrew Clucas.
He then finished by saying, “It’s great to see the industry celebrate the content, flexibility and innovation of Quickfire.” In 2015 Microgaming won this same award for the Jurassic Park online pokie. This game was the first of its kind to use Parallax Scrolling effects and it is now widely available across multiple platforms (Flash, download, mobile and Quickfire) in the real money mode or in the free play mode at all of our top-rated Australian gambling sites.
Let’s take a quick look at some of the other awards and winners from this year. MGM Resorts International won the Land-Based Operator award. MGM Resorts International also won the Customer Loyalty Program award. NYX Gaming Group won the Digital Gaming Innovation award and Unibet won the Digital Acquisition Program award.
There was also 888 Holdings for 888poker.com who won the Digital Operator award. SG Interactive - SG Universe won the Land-Based Industry Supplier and IGT – PlaySpot won the Casino Product award. For a complete list of winners head over to the official Global Gaming Awards website.
Also speaking about Microgaming’s success at this year’s event was Alex Hammond, Gaming Insider Editor. He said, “Congratulations to Microgaming, one of the biggest names in the digital supply industry who has once again had a tremendous year, spearheaded by this year’s digital product of the year, Quickfire.” All of these comments came directly from a recent Microgaming press release.
If you want to experience what Microgaming has to offer and if you live in Australia, head over to Ruby Fortune Casino, Platinum Play Casino, Spin Palace Casino or Jackpot City Casino. If you fancy placing a sports bet on any major sport, head over to Ladbrokes, Bet365 or Betfair and if you want to play online poker head over to 888 Poker, Titan Poker or PokerStars.
